What is CrossFit?
Fitness
Varied, functional movements performed at high intensity. Functional movements are natural, multi-joint, effective and efficient movements that we use every day. For example: Squat (sitting & standing) and Deadlift (picking up objects from the ground).
Beginners
CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weightloss to better performance. The program works for everyone - people who are just starting our and people who have trained for years.
The word "fitness" describes the following 10 skills that CrossFit offers in the program. By training the following 10 points, you can tackle any physical challenge you face in everyday life:
1. Endurance (rowing, running, cycling and swimming);
2. Resistance / Stamina (the ability of body systems to process, deliver, store and use
energy);
3. Strength (the ability of a muscle unit to exert force;
4. Flexibility (maximizing the range of motion of a given joint)
5. Power (making a muscle unit or combination of muscle units exert maximum force in a
minimum amount of time)
6. Speed (maximizing the cycle of a repetitive movement)
7. Coordination (combining several separate movement patterns into a single separate
movement)
8. Agility (minimizing the transition time from one movement pattern to another)
9. Balance (checking the placement of the body's center of gravity in relation to the base of
support)
10. Accuracy (to control a movement in a certain direction or with a certain intensity)
